The Role

As our Legal Counsel, you will be a strategic partner to the COO, serving as the legal backbone of Magma Math’s commercial and corporate operations.

This is a dynamic role that focuses on projects across legal and compliance. You will be working close to the founders and management on ensuring we are pragmatically compliant across markets. You will have full responsibility for forming contracts and designing policy frameworks across markets for our commercial interests. You will build the legal infrastructure that allows our sales and product teams to move fast. Furthermore you will take part in high stakes meetings on funding and have responsibility for managing our equity/cap table and supporting with investor relations.

This is the role for an ambitious individual to build the foundations of the legal function an international scale up. You will be expected to get into the nitty gritty of things while being deeply involved in the high stakes decisions.

Requirements

• Experience: 3–5 years of legal experience, with a strong background in commercial contracts and corporate law. Experience in a venture-backed startup is a strong plus.

• Funding/M&A and Equity & Cap Table Experience: Proven experience in high stakes deals such as VC funding or M&A deals. Exposure to equity incentive plans and cap tables.

• Contractual Mastery: Extensive experience drafting agreements, supporting with Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and partnership contracts.

• Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with GDPR and exposure to other compliance frameworks of relevance

• Academic & Professional Credentials: A Law Degree (LL.M. or equivalent)
