The Opportunity
We're looking for an Accounting and Finance Manager to oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This role partners closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial information, support strategic decision-making, and maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
What You’ll Do
- Financial Reporting
- Own the month end close (target 10 day close)
- Lead MRR Reporting and all affiliated accounting (Unbilled Revenue, Deferred Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Rev Rec)
- Build out prepaid expense, accrued expense, and other appropriate balance sheet account schedules for month close and in anticipation of future audit
- Monthly tie-off with sales ops to ensure A/R and Revenue accuracy and appropriate contractual back-up is present
- Special attention EOQ and EOY
- Ownership of internal month end close package
- External Reporting
- Coordinates with Tax and Audit Accountants
- Sales/Use Tax by State (implement new system, i.e. Avalara)
- Work with CPA firm on Section 174 and R+D credits (and get into payroll)
- Work with a software or service to get 1099’s out annually
- Coordinate with CPAs for federal and state taxes
- Manage Day to Day Accounting
- Work with A/R and A/P specialists to ensure appropriate timing on expense recording and invoicing to customers
- Own 13 week cash flow reporting and work with A/P to propose 2x per month check runs
- Work with Sales ops to help implement any necessary systems for invoicing, revenue recognition, and other daily items.
- Payroll - work with HR to produce payroll
- Manage accounting related technology integrations with QBO (Ramp, Bill.com) and Billing/Revenue System (Sales Tax App, MRR/Billing Tech)
- Own and evolve internal processes to promote efficiency, ensure data accuracy supporting faster financial close
- Other special activities and responsibilities as required
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with Quickbooks and Excel/Sheets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-oriented mindset
