LOCATION: Remote

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We’re looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer (with strong product analytics experience) to be our first dedicated analytics hire. You’ll own our analytics stack end-to-end, from Looker explores and data modeling to instrumentation in GA4/FullStory and deep-dive investigations into funnel and product issues.

This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll ensure our data is accurate, trustworthy, and accessible while enabling teams (CS, Sales, Marketing, Product) to self-serve and act quickly on insights

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Intelligence Ownership
    • Refactor and maintain LookML explores and dashboards, adding version control, tests, and clear governance for Looker or other BI solution.
    • Create reliable, intuitive dashboards for Product, CS, Sales, Marketing, and clients.
  • Data Modeling & Governance
    • Define KPI and metric contracts; publish and maintain a metric catalog.
    • Partner with Engineering to enforce data quality, lineage, and reliability.
    • Leverage Databricks for scalable transformations and advanced analysis.
  • Instrumentation & Product Analytics
    • Partner with Product to understand needs and make product KPIs and analytics readily available.
    • Design and QA GA4 and FullStory event schemas for web and mobile.
    • Ensure coverage across key user funnels (landing → conversation → application → move-in → reward).
  • Investigations & Problem-Solving
    • Lead cross-tool investigations to explain conversion drops, data mismatches, or UX friction.
    • Build repeatable runbooks for platform problem analysis.
  • Enablement
    • Set up lightweight request intake and SLAs for analytics, including product analytics, work.
    • Train internal teams to self-serve in Looker or other BI solution; reduce reliance on ad-hoc requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 5–8+ years in analytics engineering, product analytics, or BI roles.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • SQL (advanced; comfortable with T-SQL / SQL Server).
    • Deep Looker/LookML experience (explore design, PDTs, testing, governance).
    • Databricks (data modeling, pipeline orchestration, or Spark SQL).
    • GA4 event schema design and debugging.
    • Familiarity with FullStory (segments, events, funnels).
    • Familiarity with MongoDB.
  • Mindset:
    • Product-oriented thinker: you don’t just report numbers, you uncover insights.
    • Builder mentality: create sustainable, tested data systems rather than one-off dashboards.
    • Communicator: clear writing and storytelling to influence non-technical teams.
  • Nice-to-Haves:
    • dbt or similar modeling frameworks.
    • Python for light ETL or anomaly detection.
    • Databricks experience (Spark SQL, Delta Lake, or MLflow).
    • Experimentation platforms or statistical analysis.
    • Proptech / Real Estate Technology industry experience.
