POSITION OVERVIEW:
The VP of Finance serves as a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing all financial operations at Opiniion. This role drives long term financial planning, optimizes company wide performance, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of all financial processes. The VP of Finance partners closely with executive leadership to guide decision making, leads forecasting and financial intelligence, and manages the full Accounting and Finance organization. This position also owns the financial systems infrastructure, strengthens internal controls, oversees audit readiness, and collaborates across teams to support pricing strategy, revenue performance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings deep SaaS financial expertise, a forward looking mindset, and a commitment to building scalable systems and teams that support rapid growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Oversee day-to-day and strategic management of the Accounting & Finance organization, including AP, AR, expense management, monthly close, and financial operations.
- Own and continuously evolve Opiniion’s financial operating model, long-term planning, and scenario modeling.
- Partner with the COO on annual and multi-year strategic planning, operating plans, and budget cycles.
- Serve as a key strategic advisor to executive leadership, providing insights that influence cross-functional decision-making.
Financial Reporting, Forecasting & Intelligence
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages—including management reporting, board decks, and investor reporting.
- Develop, refine, and maintain forecasting models for revenue, expenses, cash flow, and headcount.
- Collaborate closely with Business Intelligence to align financial data with operational data and automate insight delivery.
- Establish and maintain company-wide KPIs; partner with functional leaders to track, forecast, and optimize performance drivers.
Operational Finance & Process Excellence
- Drive continuous improvement and automation across accounting and finance processes, leveraging AI-forward solutions where appropriate.
- Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and treasury operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly close, revenue recognition, billing, and compliance with GAAP and financial regulations.
- Serve as executive owner of the financial systems tech stack, including NetSuite, Tesorio, Ramp, and related integrations.
Internal Controls & Audit Readiness
- Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls, ensuring Finance and Accounting processes meet standards for accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee audit readiness, including preparation for financial audits, documentation of processes, and coordination with external auditors as needed.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work with RevOps, Sales, CX, Marketing, and Product to model go-to-market performance, product profitability, pricing, and customer economics.
- Partner with BI, GTM, and RevOps to build automated, scalable insights across the business.
- Support contract review, pricing strategy, vendor negotiations, and financial due diligence for strategic initiatives.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of accountants and financial professionals and manage the relationship with the outsourced controller team.
- Recruit, develop, and scale a high-performing Finance and Accounting organization aligned with company growth.
- Build a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enterprenurial mindset with a bias toward ownership, continuous innovation, and proactively improving systems, processes, and team performance.
- Proven experience owning both Finance and Accounting functions in a SaaS business; prior leadership in a high-growth SaaS environment strongly preferred.
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, monthly close, financial modeling, and board/investor reporting.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics (NRR, GRR, CAC, LTV, payback, cohort analysis), revenue recognition, and subscription billing.
- Experience managing or working closely with BI/analytics functions; familiarity with Databricks and modern data stacks is a plus.
- Experience with HubSpot and RevOps financial partnership considered a strong plus.
- Deep familiarity with NetSuite and Ramp.
