Department: Product
Location: Remote/Denver, CO Preferred
Compensation: $115,000 / year
As a Product Designer, you will own end-to-end design across multiple product surfaces, from early-stage research and concept development through high-fidelity UI and handoff. You will work closely with Product Owners, engineers, and leadership to deliver thoughtful, accessible experiences across our AI-powered features, admin configuration tools, and student-facing platform.
This is a generalist role that requires strong UX thinking and sharp visual design skills in equal measure. You will be a key voice in defining how our platform looks, feels, and works as we continue to scale.
Key Responsibilities
What you’ll do
- Design end-to-end workflows for AI-powered conversational interfaces, including agent configuration, conversation management, and intelligent recommendations.
- Collaborate with our lead designer on the UX and UI design for the Admin Center overhaul, simplifying complex configuration workflows for non-technical university administrators.
- Create and iterate on student-facing experiences that surface personalized content, events, and resources across web and mobile.
- Ensure all designs meet WCAG 2.1 AA (or higher) accessibility standards, supporting Pathify's commitment to inclusive design and ADA Title II compliance.
- Develop and maintain reusable design patterns and components in Figma, contributing to a shared design system.
- Conduct (along with our Product Analyst) user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to ground design decisions in evidence.
- Partner with Product Owners to translate requirements into clear user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
What we are looking for
- 3-5 years of product design experience in a SaaS or platform environment, with a portfolio demonstrating both UX and UI work.
- Deep proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, variables, and prototyping.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and experience designing for diverse user needs.
- Experience designing complex configuration or admin interfaces where usability for non-technical users is critical.
- Comfort working in a remote, cross-functional team with asynchronous communication and self-directed work.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly in writing and presentations.
- A collaborative, low-ego mindset that values shipping great products over defending personal preferences.
- Experience in higher education technology (edtech) or working with institutional customers.
- Familiarity with designing AI-powered or conversational UI experiences.
- Experience contributing to or building design systems at scale.
- Understanding of front-end development concepts (HTML/CSS, component-based frameworks) sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineers.
- Based in Denver, CO.
