About Ritten

Ritten is building the next generation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and practice management tools for Behavioral Health providers. We empower clinicians and admin teams with intuitive software that simplifies care delivery, improves outcomes, and supports sustainable growth. Backed by top-tier investors, we’re scaling quickly and on a mission to transform Behavioral Health.

About the Role

We’re looking for Senior Backend Engineers to help scale our platform as our customer base and product surface grow. You’ll be building core product features as well as improving performance and reliability in a system that clinics depend on daily. This role is hands-on: designing data models, APIs, and backend services, collaborating with product and design, and raising the bar for backend engineering within the team.

Responsibilities

● Build and improve backend services across Golang, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud.

● Design data models and APIs that power new product features across clinical and revenue workflows.

● Tackle performance bottlenecks and reliability challenges in a data-heavy healthcare environment.

● Contribute to enhancing platform-level patterns (auth, caching, observability, CI/CD, deployment strategies).

● Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers to deliver end-to-end features.

● Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code while pushing for high engineering standards.

What We’re Looking For

● 5+ years building backend systems in production, ideally in SaaS or high-growth environments.

● Strong data modeling skills and experience designing APIs for complex products.

● Solid experience in at least one of: Golang, PostgreSQL, or cloud infra (GCP/AWS).

● Comfort working in distributed systems or performance-sensitive environments.

● Strong product sense — you care about how engineering decisions impact users.

● Pragmatic problem-solver with strong communication skills.

● Full stack experience is a plus, though this role is primarily backend-focused.

● Experience in domains like payments, healthcare claims, or fintech systems is a bonus.

● Experience working with or building AI agents and workflows is a bonus.

Why Join Us?

● Impact: Build the core systems that clinics rely on to deliver addiction and mental health treatment.

● Scope: You’ll own meaningful parts of the backend while working on a platform that touches every workflow in a facility.

● Trajectory: We’re a Series A company with strong runway, serving hundreds of facilities nationwide and growing fast.

● Innovation: We’re beginning to apply AI tools across our platform — from workflow automation to clinician-facing features — giving you the chance to help shape how AI is responsibly integrated in healthcare.

● Team: Collaborative engineers who care about craft, not ego.

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation packages that include meaningful equity and strong cash salaries, benchmarked against top startups at our stage.

Location / Work Policy

We’re a remote-friendly hybrid company. Most of our engineering team works remotely, with an expectation of ~1–2 days per week in-office for those based near Philadelphia, Denver, or New York City.
